A possible scaling region of chiral fermions on a lattice

چکیده
We present the details of analyzing an SUL(2) ⊗ UR(1) chiral theory with multifermion couplings on a lattice. An existence of a possible scaling region in the phase space of multifermion couplings for defining the continuum limit of chiral fermions is advocated. In this scaling region, no spontaneous symmetry breaking occurs; the “spectator” fermion ψR(x) is a free mode and decoupled; doublers are decoupled as massive Dirac fermions consistently with the SUL(2)⊗ UR(1) chiral symmetry, whereas the normal mode of ψ i L(x) is plausibly speculated to be chiral in the continuum limit. This is not in agreement with the general belief of the definite failure of theories so constructed. March, 1996 PACS 11.15Ha, 11.30.Rd, 11.30.Qc a) E-mail address: [email protected]

متن کاملA Lattice Chiral Gauge Theory with Multifermion Couplings
Analyzing an SUL(2)-chiral gauge theory with external multifermion couplings, we find a possible scaling region where doublers decouple by acquiring chiral-invariant masses and ψR is free mode owing to the ψR-shift-symmetry, the chiral continuum theory of ψL can be defined. This is not in agreement with the general belief of the failure of theories so constructed . September, 1995 PACS 11.15Ha,...

متن کاملChiral Symmetry Breaking in Strongly Coupled 1 + 1 Dimensional Lattice Gauge Theories 1
1. Abstract We analyse − within the hamiltonian formalism with staggered fermions − the patterns of chiral symmetry breaking for the strongly coupled Schwinger and U (N c)-color 't Hooft models with one and two flavor of fermions. Using the correspondence between these strongly coupled gauge models and antiferromagnetic spin chains, we provide a rather intuitive picture of their ground states, ...
متن کاملWhether composite fermion states with “wrong” chiralities dissolve into cuts
In the possible scaling region for lattice chiral fermions advocated in Nucl. Phys. B486 (1997) 282, no hard spontaneous symmetry breaking occurs and doublers are gauge-invariantly decoupled via mixing with composite three-fermion-states. However the strong coupling expansion breaks down due to no “static limit” for the low-energy limit (p ∼ 0). We further analyze relevant Green functions of th...
